Review for the book "I Want You to Have This", published by 826 Boston: "Illustrated with arresting portraits by photographer Jennifer Waddell, these are immigrants’ tales..."
by Yvonne Abraham, The Boston Globe, May 26, 2013
Jen photographed over 50 high school students for one of our most recent and ambitious young author book projects. Jen is highly creative and a seasoned artist. She makes thoughtful suggestions while also considering multiple angles and perspectives on a project. Working in school settings can present challenges, but Jen connected with all of the kids, put them at ease, and made them feel comfortable in front of a camera. As a result of her skills and flexibility, I could breathe easy. I highly recommend Jen for both her professional talents and personal demeanor. She is a talented artist and a true pro.

Jennifer Waddell is a fine photographer. It's easy to talk to her and easy to sit for her. The results are extraordinary. My book cover will look that much better with Jennifer's photo on it.

Jennifer Waddell's portraits and family photographs capture individuals beautifully, expressing not only appearance but personality. Her camera loves people. Each image is a celebration of human nature. Her work actually makes me think a social life might be worth having! And this is to say nothing of her dog photos (but I already liked dogs).

Jennifer's portraits are honest, real and beautiful. They are true works of art. I am so happy to see her gorgeous prints on my wall each day and I look forward to having her photograph my kids and family again and again as they develop and grow. Jennifer is wonderful with children and an amazing photographer of the human spirit.

I work for a research institute at a university in the Boston area. Jennifer took our individual staff photos and research team photos. Her professional and warm manner put at ease people who are generally more comfortable in front of a computer than a camera. Research showed me that very few staff photos capture something of the personality of the subjects. Jennifer's work is truly special. She was a pleasure to work with. We look forward to continued collaboration in the coming years.
The entire process of getting our family portraits was a pleasure. Jennifer is both completely professional and extremely personable throughout the photoshoot. She put our family at ease and captured beautiful shots of our true selves. The prints are breath-taking with a quality I have never before seen.
