• about me
I graduated with a BFA in Photography from SUNY Purchase where I studied with Jan Groover and Jed Devine. I've always loved photographs - taking them, looking at them and collecting them. My walls are full. My favorite portraits are straightforward and uncluttered. My best photographs capture fleeting expressions and unguarded moments. I love smiles, frowns, messy faces, scratches, tears, temporary tattoos and all the badges of childhood. My best family portraits capture real moments of tenderness and connection and sometimes the pure unbridled chaos of life with kids. My portraits have an intimacy and honesty not always seen.
I am an artist who uses photography as a medium as opposed to a professional photographer. I am an artist attempting to make a living. I don't give a disk of hi res. files as a final product; I make art for your walls. People don't hire me because I am the cheapest - they hire me because they love my work.
I have a relaxed attitude about photographing people and I don't like to rush. Candid moments are great but I also really love the intensity of someone looking directly at the camera. I always shoot a lot of images, both candid and not, to ensure we get some that are just right. People of all ages tend to feel very comfortable around me and I almost always get something great from each session.
My prints are luscious and beautiful and 100% archival -- they're what it's all about for me. I use a 100% cotton rag paper with a soft matte surface and rich pigment inks. They look spectacular on the wall.
Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or to arrange to see some prints. I am based out of Boston, MA and Woodstock, NY but will travel outside those areas for a reasonable travel/time fee.
